File Types

We accept Vector graphics in CMYK color mode. Please find a list of accepted files below:

Adobe Illustrator (.ai)

Recommended! Please outline all fonts and ensure all images are embedded.

Adobe Photoshop (.psd)

Save with Layers and DO NOT FLATTEN. Please rasterize all type layers or supply the fonts to us.

PDF for Print (.pdf)

We recommend submitting a .pdf for print in addition to your native design files. Canva users will need to “Export as a PDF for Print”.

Scalable Vector Graphic (.svg)

A vector-based graphic that can be scaled up or down without losing quality.

Portable Network Graphics (.png)

A pixel-based image that supports transparent backgrounds. Please reach out to us if you only have a .png of your artwork and we’ll let you know if it can be used.

Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpeg)

A pixel-based image that loses quality when scaled. Please reach out to us if you only have a .jpeg of your artwork.

Vector vs. Raster / Bitmapped

Vectors are made up of mathematical equations and can be scaled up or down without losing quality. An example of vector files are .ai & .svg. Raster images are made of pixels and will lose quality if scaled up. An example of this file type is .jpeg and .png.

Font & Text Legibility

Fonts must be outlined, rasterized, or converted to paths.

To outline fonts in Illustrator, select all artwork and navigate to Type > Create Outlines.

Once fonts are outlined they cannot be edited using type tools.

Legibility: For positive type we recommend 5pt size or higher. For negative (white) type we recommend 6pt or higher.

Images

All images/links must be embedded or supplied. To embed images in Illustrator, select the image and navigate to Links > Options > Embeded.

Images must be 300 dpi (dots per inch) or higher at actual print size. We cannot increase the size or resolution of raster images.

Vectors with excessive points will increase your file size significantly. Please rasterize these images at 600 dpi. To view points in Illustrator, navigate to View > Outline

Color

Artwork should be designed in CMYK. To learn more about color in printing, please read below:

CMYK

CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) is the color mode that is used for printed materials also known as 4-Color Process. All inks are mixed using these 4 colors.

RGB

RGB stands for Red Green Blue and is the color mode used for screens (TV, monitors, phones, etc.) Artwork that is submitted in RGB will be converted to CMYK and may experience a color-shift.

PMS

PMS stands for Pantone Matching System. Refer to the PMS Solid Coated Color Book when using Spot Colors in your artwork. Please note: Digitally printed artwork uses CMYK to achieve the closest LAB value to a PMS color. If you have concerns about color matching we recommend that you purchase a Press Proof or provide a previously printed sample for us to match to. If your artwork is made of PMS colors, please provide the PMS numbers to us.
